PRIVACY AND DICLAIMER
1. Disclaimer
Suggested page title: Disclaimer — or Scope of our work.
Functional Living is an educational and advocacy initiative. We build awareness, share knowledge and develop practical skills within the neurodiverse and broader community, through educational programmes, workshops, training, learning groups and peer or community support groups.
We do not provide clinical services.
Functional Living does not offer medical, psychological, psychiatric or diagnostic assessment, clinical evaluation, therapy or treatment. Taking part in our programmes is not healthcare, is not clinical advice, and is not a diagnosis.
Our material is educational. It draws on contemporary research and emerging insights from the behavioural and intervention sciences, and is offered for general awareness, personal reflection and skills development. It is not a substitute for professional medical or mental health advice, diagnosis or treatment.
Facilitators may hold professional registrations in their own right. They are not acting in that capacity when facilitating a Functional Living programme, and no practitioner–patient relationship is created by taking part.
If you are seeking diagnosis, clinical support or healthcare, please consult an appropriately qualified and registered professional a medical practitioner, psychologist, psychiatrist or other registered healthcare provider.
If you are in crisis or at risk of harm, please contact your doctor, your nearest emergency department, or the South African Depression and Anxiety Group (SADAG) on 0800 567 567.
